Daycare Cleaning Services in Miami — Safe for the Kids, Ready for the Inspector
The short answer. Florida's licensing handbook for child care facilities requires every toilet and sink to be "cleaned and sanitized or disinfected as needed, but at least once per day," diaper-changing surfaces and potty chairs after each use, and bedding and linens at least once a week — and it requires a written cleaning schedule (Child Care Facility Handbook, incorporated in Rule 65C-22.001, F.A.C.). A daycare cleaning service is the overnight half of that schedule: everything your staff cannot reach between children, done after the last pickup with EPA-registered products held to their label contact time. Every crew member has passed a Level 2 background check — the screening level Florida sets for child care personnel themselves (§ 402.305(2)(a), F.S.).
Daycare cleaning is not office cleaning at a smaller scale. Children touch everything at knee height, mouth their toys and spend the day on the floor. Purity Pro runs daycare cleaning services across Miami-Dade and Broward for licensed child care centers, early-learning programmes and VPK classrooms, so your teachers spend the last hour with children and parents, not with a mop — and the schedule your inspector reads is the one we actually work.
What does daycare cleaning include?
Six areas, each cleaned to the standard a licensing inspector reads from — together, one written daycare cleaning scope.
Toilets, sinks, partitions and the low surfaces adults never see — cleaned and disinfected every night and restocked.
Details Diaper stations & high-touch pointsChanging surfaces, diaper pails, door handles, gate latches, cubbies and drinking fountains reset after the last pickup.
Details Classrooms, cribs, cots & matsTables, chairs, shelving and hard toys nightly; cribs, cots and nap mats on the weekly rotation the handbook names.
Details Floors & rugs where infants crawlHard floors damp-mopped and disinfected nightly; carpet and circle-time rugs extracted on a schedule, not when someone notices.
Details Low-fragrance productsFragrance-free and certified green options for infant and toddler rooms, chosen at the walkthrough with your director.
Details Illness-season disinfectionWhole-room electrostatic disinfection when a stomach bug or hand, foot and mouth moves through a classroom.
DetailsWhat do Florida's child care rules require a daycare to clean?
More than most directors expect. The Department of Children and Families' Child Care Facility Handbook, which the licensing rule incorporates, sets the floor: toilets and sinks at least once a day; potty chairs and diaper-changing surfaces after each use; diaper containers emptied, cleaned and sanitized or disinfected at least daily. It names the daily items — counter and table tops, toys, drinking fountains, floors, diaper pails, toilets and sinks — and the weekly ones: linens, washable cloth toys, play activity centers, dress-up clothes, cribs, mats and cots.
"Facilities must have a written routine schedule for cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting equipment, materials, furnishings and play areas. This schedule must include items to be cleaned, sanitized or disinfected on a daily or weekly basis."
Florida DCF — Child Care Facility Handbook (December 2025), Indoor Equipment; incorporated by reference in Rule 65C-22.001, F.A.C.The handbook also governs the chemicals: cleaning supplies labeled, used per the manufacturer and stored locked or out of a child's reach, with rooms ventilated during any cleaning or disinfecting. So we clean after pickup, with every product we bring labeled and kept with the crew. Sanitizing and disinfecting are different steps — our guide to cleaning vs. sanitizing vs. disinfecting explains which surface needs which.
Who cleans what — your staff or the daycare cleaning crew?
Anything the rules say happens after each use belongs to the classroom, because it happens between children: the changing surface after every diaper, the potty chair, the toy a toddler just mouthed, the tables before and after snack. No night crew can do those for you. If a busy centre wants daytime restroom and floor checks, that is a day porter shift, scoped separately.
Everything else is ours, and it is most of the work: the full restroom clean, diaper pails, the floors infants crawl on, hard toys on a nightly rotation, high-touch points, kitchen surfaces and the weekly list. Both halves go into one written schedule, so nobody guesses where the line is.
How is daycare cleaning different from school cleaning?
The children are younger and the rulebook is different. A private or charter school cleans for students who use the toilet on their own and eat in a cafeteria — that is our school cleaning programme. A licensed daycare has diaper stations, potty chairs, cribs and nap mats, infants at floor level and toys that end up in mouths, and it answers to the DCF handbook. Centres that run both — VPK beside an infant wing — get one scope with the infant rooms written to the stricter standard. For the room-by-room logic both settings share, read our school and daycare cleaning guide.
When is a daycare cleaning service not worth it?
When the building is too small to fill a visit. Every Purity visit carries a four-hour minimum, so a family child care home or a single-room programme with a dozen children would pay for more time than it needs on a nightly contract. The better fit is your staff's daily close plus a weekly deep clean from us — restrooms, floors, toys and the cot-and-mat list. We will say so at the walkthrough rather than sell you five nights you do not need.
How often should a daycare be cleaned?
Daily for anything a child touches, weekly for sleep equipment, and on a schedule for carpet. This is the framework we start from — built on the Florida handbook's daily and weekly lists — then tune to your enrolment and room mix at the walkthrough.
| Area | Frequency | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| Toilets, sinks & potty chairs | Every day, minimum | The handbook floor is once per day. Potty chairs after each use are a classroom task; the full clean is ours, after pickup. |
| Diaper stations & diaper pails | After each use + nightly | Staff sanitize the surface between children. We empty, clean and disinfect the pails and reset the station every night. |
| Tables, counters & drinking fountains | Nightly | Cleaned first, then sanitized or disinfected — food tables also before and after meals by staff. |
| Floors | Nightly | Vacuum, damp-mop and disinfect the hard floor in infant and toddler rooms, where children spend the day at floor level. |
| Hard toys & manipulatives | Nightly rotation | Anything mouthed during the day is pulled by staff for immediate cleaning; the rest rotates through our nightly sanitizing. |
| Cribs, cots, nap mats & play centers | Weekly | The weekly list from the Florida handbook, wiped and sanitized on a set night so it is never skipped. |
| Carpets & circle-time rugs | Quarterly (monthly in infant rooms) | Hot-water extraction, scheduled early in a long weekend so nothing is damp on Monday. |

What center directors ask us.
What does a daycare cleaning service include?
The overnight half of your cleaning schedule: child-height restrooms, diaper stations and pails, tables and chairs, hard toys on a rotation, drinking fountains, door and gate handles, floors and rugs, kitchen surfaces, and the weekly items — cribs, cots, nap mats and play centers. Tasks that must happen between children stay with your staff; we take everything they cannot reach after the last pickup.
How much do daycare cleaning services cost in Miami?
It is priced on labour hours, not floor area. Enrolment, the number of infant rooms, restroom and diaper-station count, on-site food prep and nights per week all move the number. We quote in writing after a free walkthrough, with weekly items and deep cleans as separate lines. Every visit carries a four-hour minimum.
Are your daycare janitorial services crews background-checked?
Yes. Every crew member is a W-2 employee — never a subcontractor — who has passed a Level 2 background check, the screening level Florida requires for child care personnel under section 402.305. A certificate of insurance is available on request for your vendor file.
What cleaning products do you use around children?
EPA-registered disinfectants and sanitizers, used as the label directs and held wet for the full contact time, plus fragrance-free and certified green options for infant rooms. The Florida handbook requires cleaning supplies to be labeled and kept locked or out of a child’s reach, and requires ventilation during cleaning — one more reason the work happens after the children go home.
Is childcare cleaning different from cleaning an office?
Completely. Children touch everything at knee height, mouth their toys and spend the day on the floor, so low surfaces, toys and floors outrank desktops. There are diaper areas, potty chairs and a state licensing standard with daily and weekly items written into it. An office checklist misses most of what an inspector looks at.
Can you help us get ready for a DCF licensing inspection?
We cannot promise an inspection outcome, and nobody honest will. We can make the cleaning part easy to show: a written schedule carrying the daily and weekly items the handbook lists, a deep clean ahead of a renewal visit, and a crew that works to that schedule every night.
